Accessible Library Materials

Norfolk County Libraries provide access to or arrange for accessible materials.

Currently Available at Norfolk County Public Libraries:

  • Internet access
  • JAWS (Job Access with Speech) with touch screens
  • DAISY (Digital Accessible Information System) audiobooks
  • CELA services – including CELA Digital Library, DAISY audiobooks, Braille, PrintBraille, descriptive videos, magazines and Braille music scores
  • CNIB Talking Book Club
  • Large Print Books and eBooks
  • Offers Homebound Services
  • Daisy Reader Player
  • Interlibrary Loan Services with libraries across Ontario
  • Other accessible formats and communication supports, upon request
  • Friendly and knowledgeable staff to assist users


Coin operated black and white photocopy service is available at all branches for $0.25 per page and $0.50 per page for colour.


Faxing is $1.00 per page for incoming or outgoing faxes.


Scanning is $1.00 per page.  Patrons must have an email address for the scanned page(s) to be sent to.


Wireless Internet is available at all Branches for library patrons with valid library cards.  Printing is not available for wireless users.

Public Access Computers

All Branches of the Norfolk County Public Library have computer stations available to the public and offer high speed Internet.  Residents of Norfolk County require a membership card in good standing in order to access the computers.  All bookings are done by the patron using the PC Reservation system. Visitors must register at the circulation desk before using the computers.  Each user is allowed 2 half hour sessions per day.  Computers may be reserved in advance.

With a valid Norfolk County Public Library card, patrons may borrow the following devices for use in our Port Dover Branch:

Self Checkout

Self checkout units are available in each Branch for patrons to sign out their own library materials.

Coffee and Refreshments

Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and water is available for purchase at $1.25 each in each Branch.

Interlibrary Loan Service

Materials may be borrowed from any library in Ontario using our Interlibrary Loan Services.  Patron’s may request their own materials or a staff person will be happy to request material for you.  All you need is a valid Norfolk County Public Library card in good standing.

Meeting Room Rentals

Meeting Rooms are available to be booked according to our Room Rental Contract (and Conditions Policy).

Please check with library staff on the availability of the room. Complete the Room Rental Contract and submit with payment to the library in order to confirm booking. Please read the contract for further details.

Genealogy and Local History Information

The Delhi, Port Dover, and Waterford Branches have a collection of local historical information available in their Reference Department.

The Port Rowan Branch has a local history room available to the public on Tuesdays from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Simcoe Branch has a Canadiana Room open to the public during regular library hours. Please ask a staff member for access to this room. A microform reader is available for your use.

Dog Tags

Dog tags are available at all NCPL Branches. All dogs within Norfolk County are required to be licensed, so please be a responsible owner and pick up your dog tag today. Dog tags cost $29 per spayed / neutered dog and $40 per intact dog. Proof of spy/neuter and rabies vaccinations is required.

Digital Heritage Collection

Who is involved?
The Ontario Genealogical Society, Norfolk County Branch in partnership with the Norfolk County Public Library. Funded by the Government of Ontario.
What has been digitized?
The Ontario Genealogical Society, Norfolk County Branch currently owns over 12,000 items (books, articles, pictures, etc), housed at Norfolk County Public Library, Canadiana Room. Certain historical material in both the OGS and NCPL library collections have been digitized and the originals protected.
When will the Digital Heritage Collection be available on
Our Digital Heritage Collection is available. When you click on the “Search” icon on our homepage, you will find a “Local History Search” component has been added to our “Catalogue Search.” From there, you can perform a “Local History Simple Search” or a “Local History Advanced Search.” Try it out today by clicking here!
