High school-aged youth across the county are invited to participate in our second Youth Film Challenge & Festival. Young filmmakers will create a five-minute film in just 24 hours, culminating in a red-carpet premiere at the Strand Theatre.

Challenge Launch

Thursday, November 19 at 6:30 p.m.
Simcoe Branch 

The challenge starts with three unique prompts, a registration package, and tips and tricks from industry professionals. Bring your ideas and your cameras!

Challenge Drop

Friday, November 20 at 7:00 p.m. 
Simcoe Branch 

Conveniently scheduled on a PA day, this ensures no missed classes and lots of time to plan, script, shoot, and edit your film! The deadline is firm. Drop off your completed film at 7:00 p.m. and stick around to celebrate your hard work with fellow filmmakers at our post-deadline pizza party!

Youth Film Festival

Strand Theatre (55 Robinson St, Simcoe, ON)

Join us for a glamorous red-carpet event where all submitted films will be screened on the big screen. Audience members will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite entry, awarding the "Live Audience Choice Award" to the winner!

Whether you have filmmaking experience or are just picking up a camera for the first time, this is your chance to showcase your creativity on the big screen! So save the date, tell your friends, create a crew, and get ready to roll!
