Home Service
At the Norfolk County Public Library, we are committed to making library services accessible to all residents as part of our universal access strategy.
Our Home Library Service is available to Norfolk County residents of all ages who are unable to visit a branch due to age, disability, long-term or short-term illness, mobility limitations, or residency in an assisted living or long-term care facility. Service can be arranged on a short-term, long-term, or seasonal basis.
Eligibility & Registration
-
Any Norfolk County resident eligible for a library card who cannot visit a branch may apply for a Home Library Service membership.
-
Applications are available at all library branches or can be downloaded here.
-
Applications are reviewed and approved by an authorized Manager or Coordinator before service begins.
-
Membership is valid for one year and must be renewed annually.
Borrowing Guidelines
-
Members may designate up to two individuals to pick up materials on their behalf.
-
Items are loaned for an extended six (6) week period, except for materials with special loan terms.
-
Items are not eligible for renewal.
-
Overdue fines are waived; however, fees apply to overdue Interlibrary Loan materials and to items that are lost or damaged.
-
Repeated loss or damage of materials may result in suspension of service.
This service ensures that all residents can continue to enjoy access to books, materials, and library resources—no matter their circumstances.
